系主任歡迎詞 Welcome remarks

各位來到中國醫藥大學牙醫學系的貴賓朋友們，大家好。我是中國醫藥大學牙醫學系系主任余建宏。首先我謹代表牙醫學系，向各位表達歡迎之意。

中國醫藥大學牙醫學系於1980年創立之時，曾經是全台灣最年輕的學系，也是招生人數少的牙醫學系。歷經各屆師長的努力，為系上的學研環境奠下良好的基礎。我們也希望在這樣的優良完善環境中，繼續保持，甚至更創新局，為台灣，為世界人民福祉做出貢獻！

中國醫藥大學牙醫學系位於全台灣氣候最溫暖，地理位置適中的台中市精華區，除了以小班制的精緻教學聞名之外，每年的發表品質與國考及格率也都位列前茅。除了牙醫學背景的專業師資之外，我們也延攬許多醫學工程或基礎科學，例如癌症、材料等方面專長的老師，來帶領我們的基礎研究。臨床研究方面，則與附設醫院合作，將臨床生理研究於實際場域中進行，獲得更多實際且可應用的資訊與研究成果。成效卓著。

另外，我們的口腔衛生服務隊，結合校友會長期對本系的支援與力量，也一直為偏移社區服務，也經常獲獎，得到讚許與肯定。

除了充實教學、研究的質與量，我們也積極與海外知名大學建立合作，學生見習與老師參訪進修的管道，都是希望能為師生提供更多的國際合作與世界觀，連結到將來的科研發展與國際交流，除了增加本校的能見度，更期許自己能在國際科研領域中做出貢獻，得到成就。

針對學生關懷，我們每一個班級都設計有4導師制度，因此，每位導師平均照顧的人數都在20人以內，可以立即關心，即時輔導。

對於老師的研究、進修與升等，我們也有完整的說明與配套，期許每位專兼任老師都獲得尊重，對於新進老師的長期培育，我們也積極建構，期待能為台灣的下一代牙醫學教育紮根並實踐。

Welcome remarks

Dear distinguished guests and friends, welcome to the School of Dentistry, China Medical University (abbreviated to CMUD). On behalf of the school, I would like to express my cordial welcome to all of you.

When CMUD was established in 1980, it was the youngest school of dentistry in Taiwan. It was noted for having small class sizes. Based on the efforts made by our previous teachers and students, we hope that we can initiate and embark on a new era to make contributions for the welfare of all the people of Taiwan, even for the welfare of all mankind.

CMUD is located in Taichung City, geographically in the west central part of Taiwan. It is the area with the most clement weather. CMUD is known not only for its small class sizes but also its high passing rate on the National Licensure Board Examination. In addition to professional faculty with dental backgrounds, we also recruited other professors with a wide range of expertise, such as medical engineering, basic science, oncology or material science to build up our basic research. For clinical research, we collaborate closely with our Medical Staff in the China Medical University Medical Center to conduct clinical physiological research, with a view to acquiring more realistic and applicable data. With this, we hope to make excellent presentations and publications. Our Oral Hygiene Education Team (OHET), combined with long-term support and guidance from our Alumni Association, also provides services to rural areas and remote communities. The team has won awards with many praises and affirmations.

In addition to constantly improving the quality and quantity of our teaching and research, we also actively construct cooperation plans with several famous universities overseas. This offers more possibilities and choices for our students’ oversea clerkships and for our teachers’ continued education. By doing so, it is useful to cultivate our teachers’ and students’ global viewpoints and understanding of the world, linking to future scientific and technological development and international exchange. This enables us to see farther and higher with a sincere wish to make a useful contribution in the academic fields.

For our students’ caring system, we designed a Four-Mentor system. One mentor can offer immediate and immense care to no more than 20 students when meeting with unexpected issues.

For our teachers’ research aid, continued education and promotion, we also have a well sound plan and system. We hope all our teachers receive absolute respect and assistance. This is especially important for our new teachers’ long-term nourishment and cultivation, in order to establish a solid foundation for future generations to come.

We have been putting great emphasis in creating a safe and intimate environment and on building a warm and friendly learning atmosphere. I hope all of our graduated students always “stay who you are” and “apply what you learned” and keep engaging themselves in a new era with great success.
